Description: Join the WoodstockArts authors and publishers at events featuring selected titles. Festivities include PowerPoint presentations, readings and book signings in conjunction with noted institutions and booksellers.

 

Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 10:30 AM: Fay B. Kaigler Children's Book Festival

Location: The University of Southern Mississippi, School of Library and Information Science, 118 College Drive, Hattiesburg, MS 39406 (601-266-4228). Under the North Light author Lawrence Webster will present "Maud and Miska Petersham: Picture Book Pioneers."

Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 3 PM: Talk on Caldecott-winning authors/illustrators Maud and Miska Petersham

Location: In the Reading Library, The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art, 125 West Bay Road, Amherst, MA 01002 (413-658-1100). Join Barbara Elleman, curator of "The Caldecott Medal: 75 Years of Distinguished Illustration" on a tour of past medal winners, and then listen to Lawrence Webster give a brief talk on Maud and Miska Petersham. Copies of Ms. Webster's Under the North Light: The Life and Work of Maud and Miska Petersham will be available at the museum shop.

Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 2 PM: Children's Literary Salon: Under the North Light: The Life and Work of Maud and Miska Petersham

Location: Main branch of the New York Public Library, Stephen A. Schwarzman Building, at 42nd and 5th Avenue, Children's Center. An illustrated talk presented by Lawrence Webster will focus on the life and work of Maud and Miska Petersham. Copies of Ms. Webster's book will be for sale at that time.
