Giclée executed on canvas
Sales of this print benefit the art restoration efforts of the Historical Society of Woodstock, in whose collection the original photograph resides.
This giclée print is made from an archival photograph of John Flannagan’s extraordinary sculpture, The Maverick Horse, symbolizing the untamed spirit of the Maverick commune—and its principal founder, Hervey White. Carved from a living tree in 1924, the sculpture was modeled after Hervey’s horse Roany, and is supported totem-like by a likeness of White’s head and hands. The sculpture, 18 feet tall, is now housed in the Maverick Concert Hall, stage right.
