From Grand Central to Albany: New York Central’s Water Level Route Along the Scenic Hudson River
This book focuses on the glory years of the New York Central railroad, using a multitude of magnificent steam and early diesel pictures taken along the Water Level Route by some of the most noted twentieth century photographers. Many of the images have never previously been published.
Author John M. Ham, working with railroad historians Roger A. Liller and Eugene C. Dauner, includes not only superb New York Central photos, but also images of connecting railroads and industries of all sorts that were served by the Central in one capacity or another—even mining railroads.
The book contains more than 650 black-and-white and color images. Hardcover, 336 pages, trim size 9 by 11.5 inches. Published by Stony Clove and Catskill Mountain Press in 2021.
